Canoagem2016 Madeira RGB A3The Associação Regional de Canoagem da Madeira, in partnership with Município do Porto Moniz and Município de Machico will pioneer an event denominated «Life Saver», which will be composed by two stages.

The competition consists in the start and arrival at the sand beach, with all participants completing a 500m course.

The competitive format also promotes the demonstration of the sport with several series being disputed until the final.

The seafaring vessels will be layed on the sand beach with their participants side by side awaiting the signal to get into the water and go through the 500 meters that make the course, the first to cross the line will then be declared winner.

The first stage of the even will start around 10:00h at Seixal Port beach with the second stage taking
place at Machico’s beach at 17:00h. The competition is open to both Male and Female Absolute K1 category.

At October 8th takes place the National Sea Canoeing Championship/IX Stage CRSIPRE , an event organized by the ARCM and Clube Naval do Funchal with the colaboration of the Federação Portuguesa de Canoagem.  The start takes place at Calheta’s beach at 15:00h with the finish line placed at Ribeira Brava.

Finaly at October 9th we have the «Madeira Ocean Race» an event organized by the Associação Regional de Canoagem da Madeira and Clube Naval do Funchal starting at 10:00h at Ribeira Brava and finishing at Baía do Funchal.

The making of these events are only possible due to the indispensible colaboration of Federação Portuguesa de Canoagem, Município do Funchal, Município do Porto Moniz, Município de Machico, Município da Calheta, Município da Ribeira Brava, Clube Naval do Funchal, Clube Naval da Calheta, Clube Naval do Seixal, Secretaria Regional de Educação and the SIPRE enterprise.
